Scripture: Isa 43:1-3 But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, The Holy One of Israel, your Savior;

Story: When the twin towers of the World Trade Center came down on 9/11 I, like so many believers around me, began allowing fear to overshadow the peace that I knew was mine in Christ. I found myself nervously facing an unknown future rather than trusting in the present promises of God. The Lord calls me "His child" and says that He will never leave or forsake me. God doesn't promise a life free of adversity but He does promise that we will go through those hard times together. This song came as lullabye and a reasurring word from the Lord when I needed to be reminded that I am God's child and no matter how dire the circumstances my heavenly Father loves me and has everything under control. If you are currently in the midst of adversity and are facing the future with apprehension I pray the Lord uses this song to minister His peace to you.
